DISCUSSION AMINEF

AMINEF invites you to “The State and Religious Violence in Indonesia” Book Discussion written by Dr. A’an Suryana, Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow 2005 and lecturer at School of Government and Public Policy (SGPP). The event will be held on Wednesday, December 11 at 14.00 – 16.00 at Sequis Center, Auditorium, 11TH Floor, Jl. Jend. Sudirman No. 71, Jakarta Selatan. Serving as discussant will be Ms. Nava Nuraniyah, Analyst at Institute for Policy Analysis of Conflict (IPAC) and as moderator, Mr. Alamsyah M. Dja’far, Senior Researcher at Wahid Foundation.

This event is part of a series of public events that AMINEF regularly organizes to share the work, ideas, and research results of Fulbright grantees and alumni and other scholars. AMINEF is pleased to be collaborating with Wahid Foundation and SGPP in organizing this event.
As described by the book’s publisher, Routledge: “This book analyses the response of the Indonesian state to violence against Ahmadiyah and Shi’a minority communities by foregrounding the close connections between state officials and vigilante groups, which influenced the way the post-Soeharto democratic Indonesian governments addressed the problem of violence against religious minorities.” Please RSVP by filling in the online registration at http://bit.ly/BookDiscussion-DrSuryana.

All #Fulbright events are open to the public and free of charge.
